Q. Is it primarily a recruitment office or can we post someone who would also conduct activities pertaining to alumni relations, fundraising and/or research partnership development?
A. You can hire & train and/or post anyone to that office. The idea is to conduct "alumni relations, recruiting initiatives, fundraising and/or research partnership development". Ideally, due to space constraints if that person were jointly ‘hired & trained’ by the 5 institutions, it may be more cost effective. ICE will have no involvement in who you hire since it will be institutions staff.
Q. Is the price per institution or can the $1,000 per month be split across several institutions (i.e. up to five can be accommodated in each office)?
A. As you may know space in India is at a premium and the cost of $1000 per institution is considered a bargain.
Q. How long is the lease to be signed for?
A. The longer the lease, the more permanence you can demonstrate to your potential students or stake holders. However, there are no restrictions on the term. Typically, 11-36 months is the norm in India.
Q. Is there a deadline for the signing of such a contract?
A. No deadline as such. As soon as we have 5 confirmed ‘tenants’, we will announce them across Canada and also via our database/network in India.
Q. How large? Is it time shared or does it have capacity for five reps to be there at the same time?
A. Not large enough to have 5 reps at the same time but ideally you would work it out between the other institutions as to when you will have your rep. there. Think about this as a modified ‘time share’. Another option was to have 1 common rep trained to answer questions on behalf of all the institutions. Tremendous cost savings.
Q. What administrative support will ICE provide? Is administrative support included in the $1,000 per month?
A. YES, 1 support person.
Q. Is the office in a secure location within the ICE’s larger office?
A. ICE has no office in India. Rather, we’ve sourced an individual in Delhi and Ahmedabad and another in Mumbai to ‘rent space’ to bring Canadian institutions a step closer to the action.
Q. Do I have to cancel my memberships in any other organization/networks?
A. No, actually this arrangement compliments your other efforts in India and only you decide what is more effective for you in terms of ROI, promoting your own institutional brand and the unlimited potentials of having ‘your own space’.
Q. Where do I get more information?
